Hunters by nature have a proud legacy of giving back to the passion they hold so dear. The very act of hunting is arguably the finest form of conservation in the world today. In saying this we recognize the necessity of not only giving back by creating a sustainable value for wildlife, but taking responsibility for the survival of this fine tradition we call hunting.
Through this necessity, on a bitterly cold Nebraska night in January 2009, the initial John X Foundation was born in one of our hunter’s trophy rooms. Our good friend, Chris Petersen, had been on numerous previous hunts with John X Safaris, and wanted to “give” something back to the communities and areas he’d enjoyed hunting from before.
Our approach was one where humanitarian initiative combined with education and sustainable wildlife projects would ensure the survival of hunting for generations to come. Through coordinated contributions by our hunters, John X Safaris has been able to spearhead both humanitarian and conservation causes on an annual basis.
Since then the John X Foundation has grown in leaps and bounds – a true testament to the proud hunters that join us on safari each year.
So what can you do to be a part of the John X Foundation?

"Now that I am home I just wanted to send you a quick note of thanks. I can't begin to tell you what a great time I had. I now fully understand the magic quality and allure of Africa and why so many people make return trips. This was the trip of a lifetime. Everything down to the smallest detail was amazing. The professionalism of the entire staff was unlike anything I have ever experienced. Thanks!"~ Tim Tyner '12 from USA
"I had a great experience and spent time with a professional, knowledgeable, and capable guide. I did not think a second safari was on the cards, but after being here with Juan MacDonald and the John X staff I will be back again.
Three generations of hunters, who had their 1st safari and 1st kill with John X Safaris.~ Paul Adams Jr. '15 from
We had an amazing experience taking 20 trophies over 12 days, despite some rain and cold weather. Ty and Patrick did an awesome job putting us on opportunities and Ozzy did an excellent job capturing all of the adventures. The accommodations and service were A1. We had epic stalks on the wildebeest and Eland that I will remember forever. I bet we may have the record for the fastest Klippspringer hunt. An all round excellent experience. I will plan to visit with John X Safaris again.~ Matthew Taylor '15 from
" ... Awesome experience! Got a once in a lifetime chance at Lynx and Bushpig, trophy animals everywhere. Wonderful accommodations, we never waited for anything. Gary did a great job and was very patient. We could not have asked for a better honeymoon. Thanks for everything. We will be back!"~ Dusty & Candace Phillips '12 from USA
