Hunters by nature have a proud legacy of giving back to the passion they hold so dear. The very act of hunting is arguably the finest form of conservation in the world today. In saying this we recognize the necessity of not only giving back by creating a sustainable value for wildlife, but taking responsibility for the survival of this fine tradition we call hunting.
Through this necessity, on a bitterly cold Nebraska night in January 2009, the initial John X Foundation was born in one of our hunter’s trophy rooms. Our good friend, Chris Petersen, had been on numerous previous hunts with John X Safaris, and wanted to “give” something back to the communities and areas he’d enjoyed hunting from before.
Our approach was one where humanitarian initiative combined with education and sustainable wildlife projects would ensure the survival of hunting for generations to come. Through coordinated contributions by our hunters, John X Safaris has been able to spearhead both humanitarian and conservation causes on an annual basis.
Since then the John X Foundation has grown in leaps and bounds – a true testament to the proud hunters that join us on safari each year.
So what can you do to be a part of the John X Foundation?

Another wonderful safari with John X!~ Sam Cunningham '15 from
Thanks John X Safaris my 5th hunt with you. It's always a pleasure with the camaraderie. Fantastic hunting. Both at Glen Harry and on the coast. Fantastic food. We had the hunt of a lifetime.~ Bertil Friman '15 from
"You would think after four exciting hunts with John X, including one to Mozambique, there couldn't be any new experiences. Wrong! Our trip to the Umkomaas Valley, staying in canvas sided, thatch roofed huts, situated along a beautiful waterway was another. Despite a few days of rain putting a damper on hunting, the "big one" being elusive, Ed Wilson, our PH and the superb staff at camp made this hunt a very memorable one. Each of our experiences have been different but exciting - wetting our whistle in anticipation of our next trip with John X."~ John & Lynn Nowlin '13 from USA
This was my 4th trip to Africa. South Africa is most often the first place people go. This was after 4 trips the place I wanted to hunt unique animals, and after doing my homework JXS was the company to go with. I have friends who had hunted with JXS and had nothing but great comments to tell me. The company & staff are some of the very best I have had the pleasure to hunt with. A+ rating, people with the eye on the ball & work ethics that can not be beat. John X Safaris, the company to go with!~ Larry Pendleton '15 from
