Hunters by nature have a proud legacy of giving back to the passion they hold so dear. The very act of hunting is arguably the finest form of conservation in the world today. In saying this we recognize the necessity of not only giving back by creating a sustainable value for wildlife, but taking responsibility for the survival of this fine tradition we call hunting.
Through this necessity, on a bitterly cold Nebraska night in January 2009, the initial John X Foundation was born in one of our hunter’s trophy rooms. Our good friend, Chris Petersen, had been on numerous previous hunts with John X Safaris, and wanted to “give” something back to the communities and areas he’d enjoyed hunting from before.
Our approach was one where humanitarian initiative combined with education and sustainable wildlife projects would ensure the survival of hunting for generations to come. Through coordinated contributions by our hunters, John X Safaris has been able to spearhead both humanitarian and conservation causes on an annual basis.
Since then the John X Foundation has grown in leaps and bounds – a true testament to the proud hunters that join us on safari each year.
So what can you do to be a part of the John X Foundation?

What People Are Saying
Attempting to recount a South African safari experience can be a very difficult task. Telling stories and sharing photos can only begin to paint a picture of what one can expect to see when hunting plains game. Being my 2nd trip over to hunt with Carl and the John X crew, I wondered if the experience would be less exciting than my maiden voyage. I could not have been more wrong! Hunting from the mountains in the Karoo, to the dense forests on the coast, this trip could not have been scripted any better. The thrill of chasing a new trophy quality animal every day, the stories told around the dinner table each night, and the friendships made that will last a lifetime are just a few of the reasons that a person needs to visit South Africa once in his or her lifetime!~ Garrett Wall '15 from
"It was fantastic to return to the Dark Continent in 2014 by way of John X Safaris in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Carl, Etresia, Greg, Bless and the entire JXS staff created a fantastic adventure for me. From the Waterbuck that was so large that I named him the "Battleship Texas" to my last and favourite stalk of the hunt on a beautiful Eastern Cape Kudu, my hunting experience was "First Cabin" in every respect."~ Craig Horan '14 from
"Carl another excellent Safari my friend! I had a wonderful time and can't wait to get back. Everything was done very professisonally, and I would like to thank you very much."~ Jeff Edland '12 from USA
As a returning visitor to John X Safaris, I was once again delighted with all aspects of this extraordinary safari experience. The abundance of world class animals, the superb professional hunting, the warm stunning accommodations as well as exceptional cuisine combine to make this a very special hunting experience.~ Alex Good '15 from
Tack John X för denna gång.~ Leif Halvarsson '15 from
