CONSERVATION CAUSES

“There are some who can live without wild things and some who cannot.” - Aldo Leopold

While Africa is the land of abundance, there is always a need for wildlife conservation.

South Africa dubbed the “conservation story” of the 20th century, boasts a proud heritage of bringing threatened species back from the brink of extinction. Who could ignore or forget the dwindling Black Wildebeest, Cape Mountain Zebra, and the most famous of all, Rhino, just to mention a few. If it were not for sustainable value – not one of these species would be where they are today.

In saying this we must recognize and salute the pioneers of the South African wildlife story by picking up the torch and taking wildlife conservation to the next level. While it is important to maintain and ensure sustainability in what has been achieved to date, it is as important to grow. A mission of the John X Foundation is to take on new ventures and continue on the success story we’re so proud to be a part of in South Africa.

The John X Foundation will continue to forge ahead exploring uncharted territory, and dare to be different in South Africa and Mozambique. We actively encourage those hunters so inclined to become more involved in our conservation efforts. Many want to support the John X Foundation by making contributions to causes related to preserving species and furthering their expansion. In some cases there are even opportunities to volunteer for active participation in conservation events while on safari.

For a personalized answer to all your questions with regards to the John X Foundation, please feel free to contact Trish directly. She will be more than glad to assist with contribution options on the most current projects.

What People Are Saying

"I had a great time hunting with Jono. He went out of his way in finding good animals. We enjoyed great fun and good times. Very professional PH's and great trackers. Thanks again!"

Another dream experience come true. My 2nd trip back to JXS proved to be as sett as the first. Hunting the mighty Cape Buffalo has created a profound and unrivaled respect when speaking of "dangerous game". Each time we entered teh thick dense bush in pursuit of such a trophy there was an unpredictable outcome. In the end, PH Stix helped me to harvest a larger than life trophy. This giant says it all. We the harvested to mature trophy Bushbuck rams. Thanks John X.

"Our African experience have left us with a lifetime of memories. Our ranger Kelly went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we saw all of the animals. The food was fine dining at it's best. We also want to thank Carl for our hunts of a lifetime! His hunting experience is world class, so was the hospitality he showed us. We loved it 100% ...... Perfect!"

Carl as usual another great job. A true professional - What will be next?

"When I’m not in South Africa, I’m dreaming of being there. My 3rd trip with John X was epic for many reasons. This was the first time I had the pleasure of hunting with Carl. From the jump I knew this was going to be a hunt for the ages. We glassed high and bushwhacked low. The trophies I dreamed about were there, we just needed to find them. Persistence and proven shooting equipment was our recipe for success. I was able to take the Waterbuck I had envisaged since 2005 and it was up close and personal. From there we headed north and chasing free ranging Kudu in the Karoo was a life’s dream. As I think back to this latest journey with John X Safaris, I wonder how it could get better. I’m sure by my next visit the local professionals will have another challenge we will no doubt
conquer and again test our limits knowing we have shattered the ceiling of what was once thought impossible. Let’s do it again!"
